Watercolor

Alicia painted this beautiful watercolor in April, 1976. It appears to be a fairly calm day with ocean haze. A small wave crashes onto Manana Island.  The famous Hermit of Monhegan, Ray Eugene Phillips, lived in the house across the bay as painted by Alicia.  He attended the University of Maine, fought in World War I and then decided to leave it all behind. He lived in this shack from 1930-1975 with his herd of sheep and his geese.  Can you see the six gulls in the overcast sky?
