F.C.BARCELONA STADIUM ( Camp Nou ) - Mixed Media on Stretched canvas

Artist: Gonzalo Centelles

Size:    32 x 48 inches           82 x 133 cm

From the artist, "I've gone to the stadium since I was 3 years old. My heart always beats faster every time I enter the stadium and on the way to our seats. Lots of people, noise, drums, drinks, and french fry vendors, high contrast of vivid colors and light. In my childhood I also recall the fireworks and cigars flavour. A boom for my senses !"

About the Artist - Gonzalo Centelles:

In the first United States exhibit and release of his works, we are extremely pleased to announce that Catalan artist, Gonzalo Centelles has joined our Gallery. Born in Barcelona in 1980, he studied at the prestigious Llotja School (founded in 1775) and at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona. I first learned of Gonzalo's work through Social Media outlets and quickly became a huge fan. His incredible paintings of sporting events, restaurants, bar scenes, cityscapes, and characters painted with a myriad of emotions set him apart from many artists. His paintings expound subtle messages of current political issues and social trends together with the simple daily emotions that human beings wrestle with. Centelles presents these scenes and situations very directly to the viewer, leaving no doubt about his subject matter. Using a large canvas and mixed media techniques, Centelles' use of colors with a brilliant sense of perspective is unique among young and emerging artists. Complementing his massive talent, It is evident in his works that Centelles has also learned the technical aspects from his years of fine art study.

This emerging and critically acclaimed artist has received several reviews from top art critics. This from the original text of International Association Of Art Critics, Javier Carlos and Maria Gomez Alarcon:

Centelles: A New Concept Of Pop Expressionism

New, different, bright, ironic, and even acid is the painting of this young Catalan aorist, able to draw everything from every possible angle, with the insertion of characters in a first, second and even third level, to give his works a halo of the three-dimensional image away from the flat pop. suggesting a chromatic expressionist vibration charged on the canvas in a display of vital freedom. With details on the background he succeeds in creating an atmosphere that make more reliable the developments of his characters and their environment, his loose stroke, worthy of the most outstanding artists, does not elide the licenses of someone who knows about the painting technique of art and who enjoys applying it to his whim, small destalks that enrich a work to be analyzed with interest and which shows the pictorial skills of this artist, Gonzalo Centelles, who should be followed closely.

Centelles combines imagination with realism, logic with fantasy, showing constant philosophical sociological and anthropological proposals. Highlighting, also, his concerns about geometry and perception on the painting and his ability to suggest. Showing clearly his goal: to build a world with icons of the moment he has lived full of wit and arguments. Pay sincere attention to his work. You will perceive that it comes out from inside the creating heart of the artist who paints necessarily with the indestructible strength of his internal ego. H forgets of what is established, and he visually rests of those images that have been previously projected in his conscience. You will see how this creator of the brush is gradually walking on the path built by great artists in their passage through life.
