Description
Tłish Tsoh can be translated in Navajo as Big Snake (pronounced tli sh tso). The constellation Tłish Tsoh is located in the southern part of the night sky. It is a highly respected constellation that is associated with healing. Thus in the Spring and Summer when snakes are active on the Earth surface the Tłish Tsoh constellation is not visible in the night sky. With the coming of winter the snakes go into the earth and hibernate just as the Big Snake constellation becomes visible in the Southern sky.
